Protagonist both in films and in the books that gave rise to the franchise, Dr. Alan Grant was inspired by paleontologist Jack Horner (considered one of the most renowned paleontologists in the world). Grant was hired by eccentric billionaire John Hammond, creator of Jurassic Park, to have his support, analysis and approval of the park. When the cloned animals escape, Grant along with a group of employees and other contracted scientists, are stranded on the island where the park was built, with Hammond’s grandchildren, and separated from the group with the children. It is up to Grant to find his a way back to a safe place and protect them. Played by Sam Neill, the BDS Jurassic Park presents the scene of the first encounter with the T-Rex, when the animal breaks through the containment fence and faces forward with Grant.
